However, Honey and Clover is not your Broadway-type movie. Honey and Clover is based on a 14 Japanese manga series by Chika Umino. It is, for me, quiet yet deep, simple yet enduring. Althroughout the anime too are truisms that will engage your thoughts even after you have watched the movie. I always say the simplest things are the hardest to understand. In the beginning of the movie, Takemoto, asks, "Why must people chase after things that are impossible to reach? Why must people continue to walk forward while following a goal they cannot see?" Why I like this anime is already in the review I previously wrote. Different actors, slightly different treatment, but essentially the same flavor and story. If you are anime-lover, I recommend that you watch this. When I say that, I don't mean like cakes and ice cream kind of fun and exciting day.  More like I-learned-a-lot-today sorta day. First, it started off with some a mad scramble at packing from evening to a little bit just before my flight.  Liz did Rockewell shopping.  Not much sleep nor sustenance a few days prior either.  My in-laws were bait enough to want to bring me to the airport.  The little one was not in a good mood as he slept past midnight only to be woken up at 6am which was when we left the house. For a few minutes, I could only stare at what words he was typing to me via chat.  He was happy.  He was saving.  He felt alive.  Things were exciting.  And more unbelievable, HE was the one now giving ME the pep talk. I felt touched that he would push me to do the same thing that liberated him.  He told me to stop running to stand still.  I had to hear that.  Major sign.  It's the cosmos giving me a divine kick in the butt.  Get out there and DO it, it's telling me. Basically, you HAVE to watch it if you're a Harry Potter Fan and you've read all the books and watched all the movies. That's all.  But it's definitely not better than the other books.
